SKIMZOIL™ Oil Removal  |  Portable Ultrafiltration

SKIMZOIL™ . . . an innovative new oil removal system

SKIMZOIL is a hybrid system for removing free-floating oils from washers, coolant sumps
and other process tanks.

This patent-pending system combines and improves upon the best features of surface skimming equipment and coalescing tanks.  The innovative, yet simple design is very effective at removing floating oils without pulling out water with valuable chemicals.

The floating suction head pulls floating oil and solution from the surface of a process tank.  The solution is pumped with an air diaphragm pump through a settling tank. Floating oil is trapped in a small section of the tank by weirs.

The trapped oil floats on top of the water surface and is picked up by the rotating drum that is made of CPVC, which attracts oil to its surface.  The level in this tank is set by an overflow weir, which allows the Skimzoil to rotate the drum just above the water level - so that it is only in contact with the floating oil. This allows the unit to pick up only floating oils and prevents drag out of water and chemicals. The oil is simply wiped from the surface of the drum with a spring-loaded wiper tray and can be plumbed into a separate waste vessel. The clean water returns via gravity flow to the process tank for re-use.

The SKIMZOIL system has been designed for simple set-up and ease of use.  It does not require frequent adjustment, monitoring or flow balancing to be effective. There is no internal media to plug and one of the tank weirs is removable for ease of maintenance.

The stainless steel separation tank is available in three sizes; 15 gallon, 35 gallon and 125 gallon - depending on the customer’s need for settling time to allow oil phasing. The standard 15-gallon unit has a 1’ x 2’ footprint and is capable of removing over 25 gallons per hour of free-floating oil. This unit comes wired for 110 VAC and the diaphragm pump utilizes plant air.
